DOVER — The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed GoodWork as a valued member of the Chamber.

GoodWork was recognized with a ribbon cutting ceremony during a Morning Mixer event hosted at their location in Portsmouth at 400 Little Harbor Road.

The mission of GoodWork is to support, develop and strengthen greater seacoast nonprofits by maximizing their capacity to deliver services. They do this through customized strategic support and affordable live and work space.

With over 50 years of combined nonprofit and business experience, GoodWork co-founders Molly Hodgson and Maria Sillari are certified professional coaches with a concentration in negotiation skills, gender dynamics in coaching, multicultural coaching, training design and delivery, and assessment through evaluation.

They envision thriving, successful, mission-driven nonprofits contributing to the overall cultural, environmental, economic and social wellbeing of the community. They also offer their meeting and event space at Carey Cottage for local nonprofits.

Eversource earns 2022 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award

MANCHESTER — Eversource announced that it has received the 2022 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). It was recognized for its continued leadership in energy efficiency and commitment to the ENERGY STAR program in New Hampshire, Connecticut and Massachusetts. This is the ninth year in a row the energy company has won in New Hampshire, seventh year won in Connecticut and second year won in Massachusetts.

The Sustained Excellence Award is the highest honor bestowed by the ENERGY STAR program. Winners are part of a distinguished group that has made a long-term commitment to fighting climate change and protecting public health through energy efficiency. They are among the nation’s leaders in driving value for the environment, the economy, and the American people.

“Energy efficiency is the most valuable tool we have to help all customers save money and reduce their energy use,” said Eversource Executive Vice President of Customer Experience and Energy Strategy Penni Conner. “We’re proud to be recognized again this year by the EPA and DOE with the Sustained Excellence Award, and we look forward to continued collaboration with the ENERGY STAR® program, our states and communities, our small business partners, and our customers on energy efficiency initiatives that mitigate the effects of climate change.”

Eversource was awarded for its raising awareness of, and increasing demand for, ENERGY STAR certified products and offerings. In New Hampshire, the company was recognized for ENERGY STAR homes, while in Connecticut several programs including Home Energy Solutions were recognized, and Massachusetts was recognized for Retail Products.

Newburyport Bank donates $1,250 to Experience Hampton

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. – Newburyport Bank has donated $1,250 in support of Experience Hampton’s annual fund drive.

Experience Hampton is a 501c3 corporation located in Hampton, N.H. Each year the organization raises funds to help support the Annual Holiday Parade, the Hampton Memorial Day Parade, community projects that occur in Hampton, scholarships to students, and donations to other non-profits in the area.

BIA’s in-person Meet the Commissioners and Executive Councilors Networking Reception coming May 23

CONCORD — The Business and Industry Association, New Hampshire’s statewide chamber of commerce and leading business advocate, is excited to offer its in-person Meet the Commissioners and Executive Councilors Networking Reception on Monday, May 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Hotel Concord, 11 South Main St., Concord.

As business owners, you’ll want to know the individuals directly responsible for and involved in implementing policies and passing regulations that affect how you do business in New Hampshire. Join us for a reception of hors d’oeuvres and networking to get to know your commissioners and executive councilors.

PORTSMOUTH – The greater Boston area has consistently been the top location for biotechnology, revolutionizing vaccines and therapies for patients around the world. The pandemic has shown the need for rapid vaccine development and execution of the supply chain throughout the Clinical Phases – and as a result, the need for supply chain professionals is drastically outpacing the current supply

UNH Professional Development and Training (PD&T) is meeting this demand with a new course offering: Biotech Supply Chain Management, offered live online and in person at our Portsmouth location on June 24. This program is designed for professionals looking to develop the transferable hard skills of clinical supply chain, while learning how to apply soft skills that are important regardless of a specific sector.

“The Boston area is home to some of the world’s largest biotech industries and a rapidly growing number of new companies,” explains Peter Horton, program instructor. “The demand for supply chain professionals will continue to increase. The foundational knowledge of supply chain gained in this program can benefit anyone, regardless of their role in the workplace.”

St. Mary’s Bank celebrates employee longevity with Annual President’s Club Dinner

MANCHESTER — While employers across the country continue to struggle to hire and retain existing employees, St. Mary’s Bank, the nation’s first credit union, recently celebrated 27 employees with over 20 years of service each.

The credit union’s President’s Club, which launched in 2010, recognizes and thanks employees who have reached 20 or more years of service. To celebrate a collective 748 years of service among the Club members, the 2020/2021 dinner was held at the Puritan Backroom.

“I look forward to the President’s Club Dinner every year to celebrate with these dedicated employees,” explains Ron Covey, President and CEO of St. Mary’s Bank. “They are truly representative of our culture and heritage.”

Carol Lynne Vieira, Senior Sales & Service Representative, DW Highway branch, was recognized for 35 years of service. Lisa Allard, Electronic & Deposit Operations Manager; Laurie Langevin, Branch Sales & Service Manager II, DW Highway; and Sunshine Voisine, Residential Loan Officer, were recognized for 30 years of service. Recognized for 25 years of service were Judy Leclerc, Senior Residential Loan Officer; and Sue Descoteaux, Senior IRA/HAS & CD Specialist. Sue Aronson, the credit union’s recently retired Front Desk Receptionist/Switchboard Operator, was also recognized for 25 years of service.

NHBSR’s Spring Conference returns to in-person with a roar

More than 200 members of the sustainable business community attended New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility’s (NHBSR) spring conference – Uniting on Purpose – on May 4, for over a dozen vibrant, interactive, educational and inspiring workshops.

In between the morning’s Mindfulness session and the afternoon’s Community Conversations and Corporate Citizenship Plenary Panel, NHBSR presented several awards.

The Changemaker Award was presented to Paul Michael, a Granite State College student and supervisor at Lindt Chocolate. While working as a Jamaican person in New Hampshire, he has experienced significant exclusion and inequities, which prompted him to start a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) committee at Lindt Chocolate Factory. Paul also works as a volunteer firefighter to aid others in emergency situations. He works tirelessly to promote a diverse and equitable future for all.

“Get to know someone who doesn’t look like you,” Paul advised. Just by taking that simple step, you can learn, grow and strengthened connections with others in your community.
