“When I looked at the policies, I won’t lie, I was shocked at the prolonged method, that at any provided position prior to the precise Senate impeachment trial proceedings could disqualify the copious quantities of proof that display distinct and repetitive actions of felony, corruption, and neglect of responsibility by Governor Torres around these numerous a long time. Without the need of the evidence to back again it up, the impeachment process is incomplete,” she explained.

As for the rule to restrict the impeachment prosecutor to just the House authorized counsel and personnel, Santos claimed this is “unjust, unethical, unfair, and unreasonable” to the House of Associates.

“If these overreaching actions were reciprocated, I undeniably question that the Senate would consent and tolerate these types of disregard [for] the separation of the residences of Legislature, and this has been echoed by quite a few customers of the Household of Reps,” she added.

She also noted that there have been no limits put on who the impeached official can have as legal counsel and team for the impeachment proceedings.

“Again, this is remarkably biased, partial, and unfair to the Home of Representatives… I am not a lawful professional, but based mostly on my knowledge of the proposed rules, the Senate will not be conducting a good and neutral trial and, if these regulations are adopted, we may well not even have a trial at all. The proposed principles are littered with bias. It’s really evident and clear that the scales of justice have been intentionally tipped to accommodate the impeached,” she mentioned.

In accordance to Sen. Deleon Guerrero, “It is obvious that the adopted impeachment policies do not spell justice.”

Senator Manglona similarly opposed the impeachment procedures.
